Natasha! I’ve located you! Was chatting with folk at Lucy Cavendish the other day and thought I had to look you up again!
Frens and I have also moved to a lovely thatched cottage – in Rutland! I have joined the village reading group and I am sure we would love to host you and your book – AND you could come and do a reading for my students too at the university centre! We are starting to offer a creative writing option there and we could turn your visit into a kind of launch event!
Congratulations on the book, I am really looking forward to reading it.

Ah Meggie – so lovely to hear from you! I would love to come and visit your village book group and your creative writing class.
I’m actually in Cambridge a week on Thursday – are you around in the afternoon?

Hi Natasha,
Would you be interested in coming to talk to my WI in York at some point? We’re one of the New Wave WIs (for want of a better phrase)! we’re thinking about setting up a book group so it would be a good tie in with that!
Let me know! Laura
Dear Natasha,
This is Jennie and Nicky’s mum – I am in a book club who would love a visit to discuss your book if possible. Any chance of the 14th September? In Send, near Woking Surrey and I could provide overnight accommodation if needed. let me know when you have a moment. Thanks Clare
Hi Laura – I’d love to come to York. An old school friend of mine lives there and I’m hoping to do an event early in the summer. I’ll send you some dates when I’m a little clearer. Thanks so much for getting in touch.
Hi Clare,
Absolutely. I’d love to come to Surrey. I can’t do 14th of September as I’m in Rye. I could do the 12th?
Hi Natasha
We are a Sixth Form College with a thriving reading group (of approx 25 students and staff) and would love a visit from you if possible. I’m not sure how far North your book tour is taking you but we’re in Preston, Lancashire. It would be great if we could open it up to the English students too maybe? They would be extremely excited to meet a published author!
Best Wishes
Claire
Hi Claire,
Thanks so much for commenting and dropping by my blog. I would love to visit your college. I’m a bit tied up in April and May. June is possible — I’d probably try and combine it with another Northern event. When are your girls off on study leave/ exams?
n
June would be great! Exams are all over by then so we can fit in with your schedule, Wednesday afternoons are the normal meeting time as there aren’t any lessons on.
Cheers
Claire
I’m just checking my diary — it’s all getting quite complicated and will get back to you asap!

I am so proud of you….As I have lived in Ibberton, THE village for many years I am sure
I am one of many friends who wish you luck with your first book.
We are all waiting for the launch tomorrow !
much love Jenny.
Hello from a Canadian in Toronto, Canada. My bloke is in England just now (he is from there but I imported him to Canada) and I’ve asked him to buy your book. I can tell I am going to love it. (I don’t see any listing for it here in Canada, oh dear!) But if you ever do a Canadian tour/launch, I would love you to come to my book club. Cheers!
Hi Susan — I hope you enjoy the book! Mr R will be coming out in Canada, but not until the end of June. It’s published over there by Reagan Arthur books for Little, Brown.
Hi Natasha
I’m part of a book group in Clifton, Bristol. It would be great if you could visit us as part of your Great British Tour! We would love the opportunity to meet a real life author & discuss your book and how it came to be. There are around 15 of us and we meet in a pub on the last Thursday of each month. Perhaps you would be able to join us for our August or September meeting?
Hope to hear from you soon
Sheryl
Hi Natasha,
I am part of a book club in Sydney, Australia. Your book jumped out at me while I was wondering around a bookshop the other day. Though my main intention was to purchase this months book, I walked away with two (and I have already requested we read your book next month). So if you decide to head down this way, my group and I would love to chat.
Good luck with the tour,
Sarah
Thanks Sarah. I hope you enjoy the book! I’m so glad you picked him out. I’m actually going to be in Sydney and will be at the writers’ festival. I’m not sure if I’ll be doing book groups then, just because my schedule will be a bit crazy… but you could always come along to the writers’ festival? It would be lovely to meet you!

Hi Natasha, on behalf of the Big Blue Bookclub of Plymouth, Devon we would love to invite you to one of our meetings to talk about your book. We have a meeting on the 22nd June and the 29th July here in Plymouth. Is there any chance you can join us? We are a very sociable group and have been going for 4 years.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Dear Natasha
Apologises as I am not up with these 21st century means of communication and it took jennie to point out to me that your reply was on your website and not via my e mail inbox. Are you still able to make the 12th of sept, which is the date you mentioned? You do realise it is a sunday evening -if you don’t mind then I think it would be great fun if you could come. We could all have supper and chat about your book. if you needed accommodation then that would be fine too. Look forward to hearing from you. Clare
Natasha
I want to send you a copy of the article in Wessex Jewish News but have lost your address.
Can you let me have it, please. email p.lidiker@talktalk.net
Thanks
Pat
I am Dutch and my husband is English. We are departing these shores for our abode in NL on Tuesday (27 July) your book is coming with us. We are both excited by our first glimpes. He has one and I have one and we will discuss our individual take on your undoubted talents as a writer with a great future. Our feelings are that this book could well be a best seller. Well done. Petra Pailin (and him Brian).
Thanks for your comment Petra! I really hope you both enjoy the book… it’s coming out in Holland very soon too. Though with a different cover and a (slightly) different title.
Up to p.47 and sharing the reading time with Jane Austen. Any past family connections in Southport by any chance? Harold Lewin – Jerusalem
Hi Harold,
So glad you’re enjoying it (and am thrilled to be sharing time with JA — she’s my favourite author…)
I don’t think I have any family in Southport.
best,
Hello Natasha
With a friend, I’m just starting a writing group in Dorchester. It would be great if you could support us in our endeavours!
Many thanks
Gail
My wife and I read your book and we loved ever moment that it took to finish it. Sadly my dear wife died on 26 August in her beloved Netherlands and her funeral took place in Breda on 2 September. She would have written this short note of appreciation herself to extol your talents as a writer and we were both looking forward to your next publication with great anticipation. On behalf of Petra and myself thank you for an enchanting story about Jack & Sadie. Yours, Brian.
Hi Gail,
Good luck with your writing group. Not sure what support I can offer, but I hope you all find it useful and great fun.
best,
n
Dear Brian,
I am so sorry for your loss.
I can’t tell you how touched I am by your message. I am really moved that you chose to write to me at this time and am, needless to say, so pleased that you and Petra enjoyed the book. Next time I bake a Baumtorte, I shall think of her.
Best wishes,
Natasha
Hi Natasha,
Limmud is the largest Jewish cultural and learning event in the world (probably).
I am co-chairing this years Arts and Culture programme and my co chair and me would love you to join us at Limmud this December in order to talk about your book, your life and anything else that takes your fancy.
Please be in touch and I would be more than happy to discuss further,
all best wishes,
Naomi
Hi there, how about a trip to Dubai?
Our reading group is discussing your book tonight. My friend was so moved by the book she actually wrote to you, only the second time she has felt the rug to communicate with an author. To be honest we had huge problems getting your book here, no doubt the Jewish aspects didn’t go down well. However 8 of us have managed to actually buy and read the book. I for one can’t wait to find out what others think.
Thanks for writing it.
Jude
Hello from Switzerland
I’m the manager of the English Bookshop in Bern, and we’re discussing your book tonight in our monthly Reading Circle. It’ll be interesting to see what the expats (and Swiss) make of it. Some of them last saw England in the 1950s!
With my other hat on, I’m a travel writer and the author of Swiss Watching, a travel lit book about my new homeland. Published in London in June, it’s been the No1 bestseller in Switzerland this summer. And I too have had many emails and comments from readers, so I know what it means to you to get them (and how much work is involved).
Thanks for a lovely book.
Diccon
Hello Natasha,
We have a bookgroup at my Waterstone’s branch and would love to meet you to discuss your books. Please do get in touch – amysmith500@hotmail.com.
Dear Natasha.
The book club I attend once a month is in Richmond, Surrey. If you can visit us we will be delighted. The thought of tasting Baumtorte would be icing on the cake; pardon the pun! If your schedule allows perhaps we could arrange a date after the publication of your new novel in April this year? Yours, Brian.
Hello Ms Natasha Solomons,
I am a writer, an underground writer, since I have not been published much, not in this lifetime.
One day, realising I had been reading only books by long dead males, I went to Desire Books, in search of the anima, and, eureka, there was Mr. Rosenblum’s List- and, random pick up or what- serendipity flows- it is so natural, fluent, real, timeless…and goddam funny- absolutely inspiring…thankyou.
